Are you ready for Adult Learner’s Week? LLCQ’s event this year will be via Zoom so we welcome everyone to attend from all over Queensland. The Topic “Learning to Look After Yourself” – a focus on self-care, drawing on the Wheel of Wellbeing mental health framework. There will be great guest speakers and lots of activities – this is not a sit silent on your chair kind of Zoom!

LLCQ is excited to announce they have engaged PIAC (Public Interest Advocacy Centre) from Sydney to provide 2 days of highly valuable training in Advocacy Strategies and Advocacy Skills to our members on Monday March 4th and Tuesday March 5th 2019 at Logan East Community Neighbourhood Assoc Springwood Qld.

The training is Free to members or $250 per day to non members.

ABOUT PIAC – PIAC have many years of experience in tackling difficult social problems that impact on the lives of many Australians. They conduct test cases and strategic litigation in the public interest, and provide legal assistance, policy advice and training to create positive change to the lives of people who are disadvantaged and marginalised.

This two day workshop will provide an unprecedented opportunity to plan an effective strategy around issues affecting your community. You will complete strategy planning, learn the best ways to have your issue considered by parliament, prepare your advocacy tool kit, write a media release, and negotiate for your best outcomes.
